Dr. Wanlan Xiao
I have been practicing dentistry since 2005 and truly love my profession. I have found my passion in family, cosmetic, and sedation dentistry, which allows me to diagnose and treat the root causes of oral health issues and create a smile which epitomizes the beauty in each individual.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of the Pacific in Stockton with a minor in Chinese Language. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and have been practicing quality family and cosmetic dentistry in the greater Bay Area.
I am proficient in a wide range of state-of-the-art dental procedures and techniques and committed to pursuing continuing education at the highest level. I am also a member of numerous prestigious organizations including the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.
One of my passions in life is charity. I was president of my dental school's community outreach project. I have also been a dental provider every year for the Give Kids A Smile program in the Bay Area. I have provided free dental care to over 500 kids from Richmond to Santa Rosa to Livermore. I am also an active member of Alliance For Smiles, a non-profit organization dedicated to repairing broken smiles of children affected by cleft lip and cleft palate in under-served areas of the world. In September 2008, I provided over $50,000 of free dental treatment to children and adults in Harbin, China during my Alliance For Smiles mission. I worked alongside plastic surgeons to give cleft children and adults a brand new smile. In April 2013, I traveled to Bataan, Philippines with the University of the Pacific Dental School to provide care to the under served local population.
Growing up I had always wanted a career where I could help people or animals. My out-going, people-person personality, and attention to detail led me to the path of dental hygiene. I received my degree from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa in 2010 and began practicing in Southern California before moving to the Bay Area in late 2013. My experience includes working with pedodontics (children), periodontics (gum disease), endodontics (root canals), and general dentistry. I am thorough and a bit of a perfectionist but that is only because I genuinely care about my patients and their oral health. I believe that education is the best tool we can use. Nothing gets me more excited than to have a returning patient tell me they are taking better care of their teeth and gums and noticing the difference it has made. That makes my whole month!
Born and raised on the island of Maui I enjoy going back to my island home as much as possible. When on Maui you can find me at the beach, spending time with family and friends, or eating the foods that cannot be found in California.
I was born and raised in Livermore. I’ve been married for 8 years and have two amazing kids. I love the sense of community and family environment Livermore has to offer and am happy to be able to work so closely with our patients. Coming from a management position, I understand the importance of creating lasting relationships with people and I truly value that. My job is to help our patients understand their treatment plans and insurance in the most helpful way possible. I know that sometimes insurance and dental work can be overwhelming, but my goal is to make it as least scary as possible and relatable. I enjoy working with kids and making them feel more comfortable in our office. I hope my outgoing and quirky personality will help you feel welcome and have you leave with a smile on your face.
In my free time, I love hanging out with my daughter, son, and husband. I’m Disney obsessed and if you bring it up, I can go on for hours. I can name any character and give you all kinds of silly Disney trivia, which always seems to be a great ice breaker with our younger patients. I enjoy country music, crafting with my cricut machine, sewing, and shopping. Target and Disneyland are my home away from home. I can’t wait to meet you and make your experience in our office a memorable one.
Hi my name is Samir. I started in dentistry as a dental assistant and soon found myself falling in love with the difficulty that accommodated learning about teeth. After just a year I decided to further my degree and go back to school to become what I am today, a Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF). My title consists of placing permanent restorations whether it be a filling, crown, bridge or even an implant crown. I am confident in myself that the techniques I've learned as well as the dental material knowledge I have will aide me in the pursuit for the very best care that I can give you.
A few things to know about me are that I love to talk about sports, cars, current events and everything in between. I'm a firm believer that going to the dentist can be fun and I always thrive to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Anything from a pillow to a bad joke, I can provide to you. I've been married since 2011 to my beautiful wife Pakisa. We enjoy traveling and eating good food. She's been a great teacher to me, she's a nurse that helps me understand the difficulty that arises with patient comfort. In other words, she helps me see things from a different angle.
I look forward to meeting you and I'm confident you'll walk out of our office smiling.
